Man Slain in SUV was Turning Life Around, Lawyer Says | Toronto Sun

A man found slain in a high-end SUV on an Etobicoke street made infamous by the late Rob Ford was turning his life around, his lawyer says.

Mohamed Omer was found slumped behind the wheel of a Range Rover that slammed into a house at 28 Windsor Rd. early Monday, Toronto Police say.

The gruesome discovery — made by a resident of the house — came shortly after shots were fired in the Dixon Rd.-Kipling Ave. area around 12:30 a.m.

“Omer was on the wrong side of the law, but not as a violent sort, and he came from a good family and had solid support,” lawyer Fariborz Davoudi said after learning of his client’s murder. “He had everything going for him to get his life back in order.

“This is tragic.”
